Mary & Joseph were filled with wonder as the Holy people of Nazareth spoke of great things of Jesus. 

Luke 2: 34. 35

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;(yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also;) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

The Prophetess Anna who served God with prayers and fastings day and night immediately knew that Jesus was The Son of God.

Luke 2: 38

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem

Life of Christ

It was written that Jesus would be born in the land of Juda.  Herod sends the wiseman to find Jesus in Bethlehem and he claims his intentions are to know where Jesus is exactly so he may eventually come to worship Him.

Matthew 2:11

And when they (the wiseman) came into the house they saw the young child with Mary His mother and fell down and worshipped Him. 

In a dream God warns the wiseman not to return to Herod so they depart another way.  An Angel of The Lord appears to Joseph in a dream warning him to take his family to Egypt away from Herod.

Matthew 2:15

And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying Out of Egypt have I called My Son. 

Life of Christ

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet.

The prophet Isaiah prophesied the birth of Jesus Christ approximately 1000 years before His birth.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
